Somewhat flexible hours for someone that needs to supplement his or her income with a second job. Applicants should submit a resume and transcript of law school grades. In addition, applicants should submit a short letter explaining what personal goal they would set for a fellowship and setting forth what their greatest contributions would be to our small law firm. Background or ultimate interest in our areas of practice is not necessary; our program is to give training in the basics of lawyering. Entry-level attorney job in San Jose

Small general practice law firm seeks recent graduate to become a member of our team.

Graduation from an ABA Accredited Law School is MANDATORY.

Our practice covers most areas of civil law, but excludes personal injury work. We are looking for someone who is interested in quality training from great attorneys and who is willing to invest in themselves. No particular prior experience is required, but you must be interested in putting in the necessary time to develop your own skills. We recognize that Law School has taught you nothing about the real practice of law and that you will need to practice in the trenches for many years before you can call yourself a real attorney. This is your opportunity to learn from the ground up.

Our corporate and tax practice is expanding rapidly and there will be a particular emphasis on the tax practice. However, associates are exposed to all areas of the firm's practice. Being a real attorney is not easy. Learning how to be a great attorney is much harder. Come learn under our guidance. We will train you to be the best attorney you can be.

Compensation: Beginning Base Salary $3,833.00/month plus monthly bonuses after your work becomes profitable.

Seeking attorney to author book chapter on employment law

Seeking a licensed attorney, with at least one year of employment law experience, to write a chapter for an online book regarding employment laws for new business owners. The book will be for sale exclusively on the internet.

This is an easy-to-read book that will go to non-lawyers who are opening businesses across the country. The required writing will include 15-20 pages of content with graphs, charts, pictures. The charts and graphs should illustrate each point in the book to make for easy and understandable reading. This book will not read like a law book, it will read like an informative blog. Bullet-points and short, descriptive sentences are expected.

The content will not be state-specific, but rather general information that every new business owner should know. There are two goals with this book -- to inform the business owner about general principles of employment law and to let business owners know that there are some tasks they can do as a non-lawyer and there are some tasks that should be done ONLY by a lawyer. This chapter will give details about each of those types of tasks within the field of employment law.

In addition to content, there should be one or two generic forms that the business owners could use from time to time when dealing with employment issues.

This could be a wonderful opportunity for the right attorney who is just starting a career or launching a new law firm. Your name and contact information will be listed as a recommended attorney at the end of the chapter.

To apply for this position, please send your resume and a short, non-legal writing sample (two-page maximum).

Compensation: $100 plus credit in the book. Telecommuting is ok.

Entry-level litigation attorney job in Chicago

Two experienced trial attorneys seeking an associate with 0-3 years' experience, to aid and assist with all aspects of a small litigation practice. Civil rights' side of practice focuses on police misconduct cases and criminal side focuses mostly on felony matters at 26th and California. Firm tries several cases a year and the associate will receive a great deal of litigation and trial experience. In addition to bench and jury trials, the associate will have a chance to participate in client and witness interviews, case investigations, depositions, trials, motion practice, jail visits, scene visits, and settlement conferences. He or she will be expected to assist with all aspects of the discovery process and will also be expected to conduct legal research and draft legal memorandum.

Credit collection attorney jobs in PA, NJ, NY, DE, MD and DC

We are looking for attys to handle hearing appearances. Majority of them are credit card collection cases in Civil Court, however, we do expungements in Criminal Court as well. They are mostly at the DJ level, but some at the CCP level. We pay per appearance with no additional for travel or expenses. There is no prep work involved except for printing the emailed docs and taking them to court with you. You will be expected to review the docs prior to the hearing so you are aware of what the case involves. The only thing expected after the hearing is an email advising of the results within 24 hours of the hearing. We require monthly invoicing at the end of the month / first week of following month. You will be paid within 30 ? 60 days from the invoice. The invoices are required to have the county and court, name of the case, results and who the client was. We do not pay much, but it is a great way to litigate each day and make a little extra money. We do not require alot of litigation experience, and the cases certainly do not require an LLM, however, you have to have a "backbone." Some of our clients have assignment cases. Accordingly, there might not be alot of supporting docs, as the debts may have originated with a company that no longer exists. You have to be able to handle yourself when that happens, and, as well as be willing to learn how to introduce documents (through Pa Rule of Evidence 902) without a witness, etc. You need to know the local rules, such as 1305. You have to be able to think on your feet and to "roll with the punches". There are no roadmaps given with the assignments. We need you to be a lawyer. We cannot guarantee a case load. We are looking for handling attorneys in each and every county throughout all of PA, NJ, NY, DE, MD and the DC area. We are continuing to grow at a rapid pace.
