Entry-level elder law attorney job in Illinois

Rosemont, Illinois law firm concentrating in Elder Law and Estates and Trusts seeks recently admitted attorney to prepare Medicaid and VA applications.​ Also preparation of client asset inventories and trust funding required.​

This position also includes office assistance, legal drafting, and court appearances.​

The individual will be required to have superb verbal and written skills.​ Knowledge required of word processing (MS Word and Word Perfect), MS Excel spreadsheet capabilities, MS Access, and MS Outlook.​

This is a5 days per week 40 hours per week position.​ Salary is $30,000.​ This is a good opportunity in a nice environment for an attorney employee that is just starting out.​

Elderly law attorney job in San Francisco

AGENCY DESCRIPTION
Legal Assistance to the Elderly (LAE) provides free advice and representation in civil matters to residents of San Francisco age sixty and over and to disabled residents of San Francisco age eighteen through fifty-nine. Priority areas of practice are housing (tenants only), public benefits (Social Security and SSI), abuse prevention, consumer and debt collection issues.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
• Member State Bar of California
• One year of practice
• Strong, written, verbal and interviewing skills
• Patient & flexible

DESIREABLE
• Bilingual in English and Russian, Cantonese, Mandarin, Tagalog or Spanish
• Knowledge of legal issues related to poverty and/or aging
• Knowledge of landlord tenant law
• Knowledge of Americans With Disabilities Act
• Experience working with elderly, disabled or homeless individuals or those experiencing a crisis
• Experience working in a non-profit legal service, or other non-profit

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Conducts intake interviews with new younger disabled clients, including home and hospital visits, when necessary
• Provides in-office “backup” on a rotating basis, responding to client emergencies and agency inquiries
• Provides legal advice, brief service and representation to younger clients (18-59) with disabilities
• Provides technical assistance and training to other service providers
• Conducts consumer education lectures and workshops
• Supervises paralegals, interns or volunteers
• Prepares written materials for consumers in areas of expertise
• Participates on task forces, committees, etc.
• May be assigned other job related duties consistent with the above
