Chicago entry-level attorney job

"Pay is very minimal for now--$10 per hour and depending on experience but, in return, you will truly learn how to practice law in the "real world" and go to court..."

Very busy and fast-paced litigation practice (personal injury and commercial litigation). Need attorney with 1 year experience at least preferred. Recent grads considered only if internships in past at litigation firm only. Must be able to decipher what needs to be done and have good research and writing skills. Must be able to be very flexible and just "get the job done" as the tasks change sometimes hourly and daily. Must have a good attitude and be able to focus on the tasks at hand.

Please send your resume in Word or Adobe but also please "cut/paste" your resume (no need to make it "pretty") into an e-mail so we can read it on any device quickly without having to download.

Must be able to start asap if acceptable and agreed. Pay is very minimal for now--$10 per hour and depending on experience but, in return, you will truly learn how to practice law in the "real world" and go to court, go to depositions and do trial-related and potentially trial work (when a trial is in full force). MOST IMPORTANTLY, could lead to something more but no promises and no guarantees. Past attorneys who have worked for us have made much more and/or moved on (with our help in fact!) to other firms in a RELATIVELY SHORT PERIOD OF TIME because of the TREMENDOUS experience gained and we are happy to help the next attorney do the same OR you can grow with us and make more and really learn the rarest of skills--trial law in action. We are simply looking for a good person to help us and we will, in turn, help him/her get started in the practice of law. The right person can quickly grow--and opportunities abound. Get the EXPERIENCE you cannot get elsewhere and move on--or grow with our firm to earn terrific money.

Tell us why you want to be a litigation AND trial attorney and find it interesting or fascinating in 1-3 SHORT paragraphs, no more in the e-mail (no cover letters please!). If you want to send a recent writing sample in addition to these 1-3 paragraphs, terrific. If not, truly not an issue. Thank you and look forward to hearing from interested individuals looking to truly build a future and learn from us.

Work-from-home attorney job opportunity

Thanks to the reader who forwarded this job ad, which states: "this is only a job for someone who can basically work at a personal assistant's rate."

I am a corporate lawyer who has a personal litigation matter that I would like to handle myself. However, being busy and without litigation experience, I would like to get some help from someone who can do factual research, a little legal research, FOIA requests, review of documents, first drafts of basic legal documents (I'm sure I'll edit it to death, so I don't need a brilliant writer, but I do need someone detailed oriented to help me with the process and to make sure I'm using all the right forms), maybe join a deposition and help preparing questions, and so on. All around help. Rockland county experience a plus, but anyone who thinks that's irrelevant because they can figure out local practice is welcome. Because this is a personal legal matter that I couldn't afford to pursue at normal outside lawyer rates, this is only a job for someone who can basically work at a personal assistant's rate. I figure this will drag on for months and that we'll have 5, 10 or 20 hrs/week of work to do on average (and a lot more if we get a big discovery request through), but I really haven't been through this before so am not sure.
