This position is ideal for an attorney who does not want the stress of rainmaking, being judged on the number of billable hours, and who would welcome the opportunity to work closely with the managing partner on her caseload without being responsible for an independent caseload. No experience or bar admission required.
In the event that the position is not filled by an attorney, the firm will also consider resumes from experienced paralegals. Paralegal applicants must have a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of legal experience.
Skills needed for all applicants:
- Legal research;
- Excellent writing skills;
- A desire to help clients;
- Excellent communication skills;
- 55 wpm keyboarding and basic computer skills.
Responsibilities would include:
- Daily meetings with managing partner to discuss cases;
- Talking to potential new clients about their cases;
- Talking to existing clients and giving them guidance;
- Legal research;
- Writing demand letters and other documents;
- Reading medical records and writing summaries;
- General case management;
- Scheduling.
