Volunteer attorney jobs in NYC

20+year general practice law firm hosting internship program. We seek Two (2) interns to learn and assist in law firm responsibilities, for three (3) months, subject to renewal. A friendly, fast-paced international environment to gain experience and learn while working with supportive colleagues. Mandarin A+, but not necessary.

The law firm has offices in 01) Flushing, Queens; 02) 8th Avenue, Brooklyn; 03) Chinatown, Manhattan; and 04) Taipei, Taiwan and is well versed Real Estate, Immigration, Matrimonial, Corporation, Bankruptcy, IP, PI, Labor/Employment and City, State & Federal Litigations.

Excellent training for a new attorney, awaiting admission, law graduate and student with little experience needing to obtain crucial experience in above specialty work in a competitive market or experience to apply to the future careers, and/or a rookie from foreign states with no or little idea about NY legal practice.

Intern will gain experience in all aspects of litigation practice, and will work directly with Attorneys. Intern will receive training in (1) Initially evaluating all type of cases, (2) Writing correspondence, legal motions, and memos(3) Completing forms, training ECF, PACER, NYSCEF for Fed, State and Bankruptcy, (4) Interviewing clients, going to court, (5) Working with gov agencies and (6) Preparing trial Notebook, pretrial order, jury instruction, voir dire, motion in limine, and trial.

A strong letter of recommendation will be provided upon request and successful completion of internship. An Evaluation and Exit Interview will be conducted and intern will be considered for a formal offer of employment at conclusion.

Law firm can provide academic credit under school program as internship, externship or OPT. Please note that this is an unpaid position to gain valuable experience only.
