Immigration attorney job in Bay Area

Seeking a full-time experienced bilingual (Spanish/English) immigration attorney to provide client services in our Redwood City office. Our mission is to welcome, educate and serve immigrants and their families as they join and contribute to the community. Our Redwood City Office provides legal immigration and citizenship services to over 4,000 people per year.

Duties:
-Provide full representation, brief service, and/ or legal advice to low income clients filing applications, including family-based and humanitarian immigration petitions, waivers, U Visas, naturalization, and removal defense.
-Conduct workshops, clinics, outreach activities and information sessions, including occasional evening and weekend events.
-Train and help supervise law students and other volunteers
-Comply with policies, procedures, protocols, and best practices for non-profit immigration law practice and for the International Institute.
-Collect fees for services and issue receipts.

Qualifications:
-Admission to any state bar or the Washington D.C. bar.
-Two -- five years of experience in immigration law assisting immigrants with family visa petitions, waivers, naturalization, U Visas, and removal defense.
-Outstanding legal research, writing, and public speaking skills.
-Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish (written and spoken).
-Dedicated to providing high quality legal assistance and capable of handling complex legal issues on behalf of low-income immigrant populations.
-Ability to conduct outreach and education events to groups of immigrants.
-Demonstrated accuracy and attention to detail for forms completion.
-Commitment to serve immigrants and compassion for the issues faced by the low-income newcomer community.

Compensation: $44,000/year plus excellent benefits
