Entry-level attorney job in Chicago

We are a small law firm that is growing aggressively and likely will expand much more within the next three (3) to six (6) months. Currently, we are looking for a newer attorney for 15 to 25 hours per week depending on cash flow and work available. Ideally, Partner wants to get you as many hours as practical depending on our needs and cash flow. We are looking for an attorney that is hard working, well-organized, and possibly looking to growth with a smaller law firm. We practice in multiple areas including civil and commercial litigation, estate planning and probate, and small to medium sized business law.

Essentially, this is a contract position and may lead to a full-time Attorney Position. We will hire a full-time attorney within three (3) to four (4) months but quite honestly, we are wondering whether we should hire a newer attorney or more experienced attorney. You will draft motions, perform case law and motion research, draft estate planning and probate documents and go to court. This position is extremely hands on and you will learn a lot. We are open to increasing the compensatioin after cash flow increases, which is happening very quickly.

We prefer a newer attorney that has worked in a law firm environment before, is well-acquainted with the Daley Center and willing to travel to Suburban court houses. This position will begin as soon as possible. We are located downtown Chicago fairly close to the Daley Center and Harold Washington College. Email me your resume, writing sample, and a cover letter explaining why you would be a good fit.

Location: Downtown Chicago
Compensation: $15 per hour (possibly more within several months)
