Attorney job @ Seattle community organization

A community organizations in Seattle seeks an energetic person to serve as its part-time Program Manager. Founded in 2004, we are an innovative organization that helps provide much-needed legal assistance to help strengthen nonprofits across Washington. Our mission is to build the capacity of nonprofits and advance community development by providing free legal assistance to nonprofits and low income entrepreneurs on business-related matters through a network of volunteer attorneys.

JOB DESCRIPTION
The Program Manager is the sole employee of the organization and helps to manage and advance the organization's programs under the guidance of the Board of Directors. We have recently redefined its strategic plan and is seeking to implement that plan. This is an exciting period in the organization’s history and we seeks an energetic individual with initiative to help grow the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS:

J.D. preferred

Program Management/Nonprofit Experience REQUIRED

An interest in and commitment to pro bono legal assistance

Excellent organization and management skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities

The ability to be proactive and work under own initiative, and in very independent conditions

Fundraising experience - grant writing experience a plus

Intermediate to advanced computer skills including proficiency in MS Windows Suite and Access 2000

Those seeking to maintain separate law practice will not be considered

WORKING CONDITIONS AND COMPENSATION
This is currently a 20-hours per week hourly position. Rate of pay is commensurate with experience ($20-$24 / hour). Benefits include 40 hours paid time off. Health benefits are not provided at this time. Office space is provided at a downtown Seattle law firm that is a supporter of WAACO.
