In-house attorney job @ L.A. fashion company

Young, fast-growing, women's clothing and merchandise retailer is looking to hire an in-house attorney to assist in legal compliance/litigation.

• Employs knowledge of labor and employment law with specialized knowledge of employment discrimination/harassment/retaliation law.
• Facilitates legal educational responsibilities of management and employees.
• Provides support to GC in handling day-to-day corporate legal affairs.
• Assists in monitoring legal climate for changes in statutes, laws and regulations affecting the Company.
• Conducts legal research appropriate to address legal issues and/or problems arising at all levels of the corporation.
• Assists GC in compliance efforts aligned with corporate governance rules, including Sarbanes-Oxley.
• Serves as a liaison between Legal Department and other departments and levels of the Company.

Minimum requirements:
1 year law and motion experience in employment litigation (intern/externships cannot be used towards this requirement)
California bar license

  1. 40k a year?!?!?! With that workload and required input (with natural learning curve regression), it comes out to $7.24 per hour. Get me an MBA STAT!!!
