A small, private law firm in downtown Austin focusing on estate planning, estate administration, probate, and elder law is seeking a full-time special projects associate attorney with good analytical skills, a strong eye for detail, and a passion for customer service.
Responsibilities
• Assists estate planning and administration attorneys with special projects
• Maintains file organization for all assigned clients
• Manages client communication including mailings, telephone calls, and email
• Drafts and edits correspondence to clients and courts as needed
• Ensures assigned files progress towards completion in a timely manner
• Completes other assigned tasks as required
• Spends time outside regular office hours learning about and keeping abreast of estate planning laws, regulations, and techniques
Requirements
• Must be licensed by the Texas Supreme Court to practice law
• 2+ years total work experience (legal or otherwise, full- or part-time, with some office experience)
• Strong proofreading and editing skills
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail in written communication
• Outstanding organizational abilities
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both on the telephone and in person
• Proficiency in a PC environment, with experience in both word processing and spreadsheet software
• Non-smokers only
Compensation: $25k-$30k per year
