Real estate attorney job in Maryland

A small Montgomery County law firm that has a substantial real estate settlement practice is seeking a Maryland barred attorney for a six month temporary position as a contract employee. The attorney will assist the firm in all facets of conducting real estate closings, including examining titles, preparing documents for settlements and conducting the closings themselves. Other responsibilities may include assisting the firm’s attorneys on litigation matters, as needed.

Real estate experience is not required as we can train the right candidate quickly. We are looking for a person who is bright, energetic, has a keen eye for detail and, most importantly, is a people person. In this position, you will meet with the firm’s clients on a daily basis and, if you are not a social person, who interacts well with others, you are not the candidate we are looking for. Former class Presidents, fraternity/sorority social chairmen, niceness award winners are encouraged to apply. (Assuming, of course, you are detail oriented as well.) We are not looking for a future Supreme Court Justice, just a really nice, competent attorney who does his or her job well.

This is a full-time position for six months, commencing December 1 and running through the end of May. Approximately 40-45 hours per week, including 2-3 evenings per week. A car is required. Compensation is $4,200/month.

Interested applicants should e-mail their resume. Don’t waste time on a cover letter.
